Windows Phone Emulator
The Windows Phone Emulator can be obtained as part of the Windows Phone SDK.
It is supported for use on:
- Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) versions (all editions except Windows 7 Starter)
- Windows 7 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) versions (all editions except Windows 7 Starter)
It is not supported if you try to use:
- Windows Server
- Windows XP
- Within a Virtual Machine

Using Windows Phone Emulator
Using the emulator, you can either emulate your new SharePoint site within the mobile browser or test the new Windows Phone application that you want to use with SharePoint.
The emulator includes a number of features that allow you to manipulate the on screen phone. These include:
Enable on screen keyboard
- Press the PAGE UP key
- Press the PAUSE/BREAK key
Disable on screen keyboard
- Press the PAGE DOWN key
- Press the PAUSE/BREAK key
NOTE: You cannot change device orientation if you have enabled keyboard. You have to disable the keyboard before you change orientation.
Keyboard Mappings
Here are some keyboard mappings that you can use to work with the emulator:
- F1 = Back button
- F2 = Windows Start
- F3 = Search
- F6 = Half depressed camera key
- F7 = Fully depressed camera key
- F9 = Volume up
- F10 = Volume down

There is no keyboard shortcut that allows you to manipulate the orientation of the emulator. For this, you must use the emulator toolbar controls that appear at the side of the phone:
